Music workshops and concerts

Currently we offer a 40-min online bespoken music workshop, sharing interesting historic and cultural stories whilst showcasing beautiful music. Through our greatest of intentions, an increasing number of the younger generation has experienced inspiring cultural activities, as well as interactive learning opportunities. ​​​Previously we have successfully delivered offline workshops in local schools, and received a variety of positive feedback.

Our instrument PIPA is a four-stringed Chinese musical instrument, sometimes called the Chinese lute which has existed in China as early as the Han dynasty. The pipa is one of the most popular Chinese instruments and has been played for almost two thousand years. 

The guzheng, also known as the Chinese zither, is a Chinese plucked string instrument with a history dating back to 2,500 years. It has 16 (or more) strings and movable bridges. The modern guzheng usually has 21 strings and is 64 inches (1,600 mm) long. It has a large, resonant cavity made from ‘wutong’ wood.
