Performance and workshops

Additional Information

We are offering creative Chinese musical shows and events with Chinese traditional Musical instruments across the UK.  Also, we'd like to join school cultural workshops and offer the opportunity for students to  experience the most historically fascinating areas of the world, whilst enjoying a fun and interactive Chinese Culture session.

Our instrument PIPA is a four-stringed Chinese musical instrument, belonging to the plucked category of instruments. Sometimes called the Chinese lute, the instrument has a pear-shaped wooden body with a varying number of frets ranging from 12 to 26. The pear-shaped instrument may have existed in China as early as the Han dynasty. The pipa is one of the most popular Chinese instruments and has been played for almost two thousand years in China.

The guzheng, also known as the Chinese zither, is a Chinese plucked string instrument with a more than 2,500-year history. It has 16 (or more) strings and movable bridges. The modern guzheng usually has 21 strings, and is 64 inches (1,600 mm) long. It has a large, resonant cavity made from wutong wood.

The erhu is a two-stringed bowed musical instrument, more specifically a spike fiddle, which may also be called a Southern Fiddle, and sometimes known in the Western world as the Chinese violin or a Chinese two-stringed fiddle. A very versatile instrument, the erhu is used in both traditional and contemporary music arrangements, such as in pop, rock and jazz.
